🐾 Roxy’s Barkyard Policies + Terms

At Roxy’s Barkyard, we believe clear communication keeps tails wagging and your day at ease. These policies are here to protect you, your pup, and us ~ ensuring every stay is safe, smooth, and free of anything ruff!

🐾 Bookings

  • Meet & Greet Required: All new clients must complete a complimentary 30-minute Meet & Greet before booking daycare, boarding, or walks. This ensures your dog’s comfort level, temperament, and compatibility with our pack.

  • Practice Night for Boarding: For stays of two nights or longer, we require a one-night paid “practice round” at half price to make sure your pup feels at home and stress-free before a longer stay. This gives peace of mind for everyone that it is a good fit.

  • Intake Forms: Proof of vaccinations must be attached to the Client Intake & Liability Agreement (sent after your Meet & Greet) before any booking can be confirmed.

  • Payment: Payment for all services is due at the time the service is completed.

  • Large Dog / Senior Surcharge: Dogs over 100 lbs, or senior pups requiring medication or additional support, include a $15 per-night surcharge due to the extra time, handling, and accommodations needed to keep them comfortable and well-cared for.

🐾 Pick-Ups, Drop-Offs & Transportation

  • Roxy’s Barkyard provides safe daily transportation, and clients understand that dogs may travel in a personal vehicle to and from nearby dog parks, trails, and outdoor areas for exercise and enrichment.

We’re happy to offer convenient pick-up and drop-off services for your pup — but you’re always welcome to handle your own if that’s easier for your schedule.

All dogs travel safely in a climate-controlled, secured vehicle, either crated or seat-belted for comfort. We’ll immediately communicate any traffic, weather delays, or unexpected situations.

    Transportation Fees:
    Complimentary pick-up or drop-off between 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM within a 5-mile radius
$5 fee for transportation outside the 5-mile radius (during non–rush-hour times)
$15 surcharge for transportation requested during rush-hour

    Optional Home Access:
For clients who prefer smoother scheduling — especially early mornings, late evenings, or mid-day pick-ups — providing a key or access code can be extremely helpful. This is never required, but it allows us to pick up or drop off your pup without disrupting your schedule, and helps avoid rush-hour surcharges when timing is tight

🐾 Health & Safety

  • Roxy’s Barkyard is a boutique, home-based environment. To keep things calm, safe, and personal, we welcome no more than five dogs at a time, and we adjust our capacity based on the sizes and needs of the pups in our care. For example, if we have several large dogs booked, we intentionally limit additional guests to ensure comfort, safety, and balanced energy for everyone.

  • All dogs must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccinations. Proof is required prior to any booking.

  • As a home-based boutique without a yard, all exercise takes place through structured walks, dog park visits, and nature outings. We spend an average of four hours outside each day, ensuring every pup gets real movement, stimulation, and fresh air. Weather Safety: Outdoor time may be adjusted during extreme heat, cold, heavy rain, or severe weather to ensure the safety and comfort of all pups.

  • Flea and tick prevention is required for every pup. If fleas or parasites are detected, the dog will be safely separated and the owner contacted for pickup.

  • Dogs must arrive healthy — free from coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, or other signs of illness.

  • Feeding: Roxy’s Barkyard follows owner-provided feeding instructions and only feeds food supplied by the owner. Some dogs may skip meals during boarding due to routine changes, and this is considered normal.

  • Unneutered males are welcome only if they have friendly, stable temperaments. Any signs of aggression or dominance will result in removal from group play.

  • Females in heat cannot be accepted under any circumstance.

🐾 Behavior & Temperament

  • Dogs showing aggression, extreme anxiety, or unsafe behavior will be separated from services for their own comfort and the safety of others.

  • Roxy’s Barkyard reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if a dog’s behavior becomes disruptive or unsafe.

  • Excessive Barking: While we adore vocal pups, Roxy’s Barkyard maintains a calm and peaceful environment for all guests. Unfortunately, dogs who bark excessively or cannot settle after gentle redirection may not be the best fit for our space.

🐾 Medications & Special Care

  • We’re happy to administer owner-provided medications with clear written instructions.

  • Roxy’s Barkyard is not a veterinary facility and cannot offer medical diagnosis or treatment.

  • Owners are responsible for any complications, side effects, or costs related to medication or special care.

🐾 Emergencies & Veterinary Care

  • Your dog’s safety will always come first.

  • In case of emergency, we’ll contact you immediately.

  • If we cannot reach you, we will transport your dog to the nearest trusted veterinarian or emergency clinic and authorize care in your dog’s best interest.

  • All veterinary and transportation costs are the responsibility of the owner.

🐾 Indemnity & Hold Harmless

  • Roxy’s Barkyard takes every reasonable precaution to provide a safe, supervised, and positive environment. However, dog care and play naturally carry some risk.

  • By using our services, you agree that Roxy’s Barkyard, its owners, and staff will not be held responsible for injury, illness, or damage that may occur through normal, responsible dog handling or play.

  • You accept full financial and legal responsibility for any injury or damage your dog may cause to another pet, person, or property while in our care or during transport, and you agree to hold Roxy’s Barkyard harmless from any related claims or costs — provided reasonable care and supervision are exercised at all times.

🐾 Insurance & Professional Coverage

  • Roxy’s Barkyard LLC is fully insured for professional pet care services.

  • Our coverage is in place to support responsible practices and provide peace of mind, though it does not replace the owner’s responsibility for any injury, illness, or damages caused by their dog.

🐾 Photos & Social Media

  • We love capturing wagging tails, muddy paws, and happy faces! Photos and videos may be shared on Roxy’s Barkyard’s social media or website.
If you’d prefer your pup not be featured, simply let us know — we’ll happily respect that.

🐾 Final Notes

  • At Roxy’s Barkyard, your dog isn’t just a guest — they’re part of the family. We build every day around connection, movement, and calm, balanced energy. These policies ensure that we can provide the highest level of care while keeping every pup safe, happy, and fulfilled.
